Whats hernia?

Question:
my friend has it n idk what it is or if its a disease?

Answers:
Nope hernia is not a disease and is no way contagious!!

You get hernia from lifting things that are too heavy for you to carry causing strain on parts of the body. Hernia is also passed on genetically such as mine when the stomach lining in your body is weak (grr genetics) and your intestine (yes your intestine) gets pushed outward causing a lump to form. The lump can be painful at times and other times you hardly notice is there (ive had hernia before when i was 12 due to wearing a heavy backpack and a weak stomach lining = bad mix)

Bascially people find out they have hernia when they find a small lump (it gradually gets larger the longer you wait to get treated) on various parts of their body most commonly found near your private areas or above and below the belly button.

It's corrected by surgery when the doctor closes the hole causing the intestine to push out.. it's normally a 40 mintue procedure and you will go home the same day.
from the link "A hernia occurs when part of an internal organ bulges through a weak area of muscle"
A hernia is an opening or tear in the wall of a muscle that allows some part of your insides to protrude through. It is not a disease it's the name of a condition as in "he has a hernia".
Its when you hurt your groin muscle's.
