Is having a rash during mono normal?

Question:
i have had mono for three weeks now and i broke out into a rash. at first it was just on my face and now its all over. im only 17 and i dont ever remember having a rash so i dont know much about them. im sure its not a big deal, but could it be contagious or is it just a typical symptom of having mono

Answers:
A non itchy rash often occurs with mono(glandular fever) as part of the condition .I assume that you have seen your doctor and the diagnosis was confirmed by a blood test.

A rash can also be caused if penicillin is given for mono. The penicillin may have been given for a sore throat before the diagnosis was made
I know you can get what they call a "butterfly rash" on your cheeks, but not sure about all over. Might want to follow up with your doc.
Yes. I had a rash with mono. The doctor initially thought I might have measles - but the test came back positive for mono.
When I had mono, I got shingles internally on my stomach and spleen. The doctors told me that it was from the stress and trauma from being ill.
