Can the sugar substitute, splenda cause cancer?

Question:

Answers:
here is how i see it. chemicals that are any form of substitute for food, cant be good for you in the long run. i dont care what heavily paid "experts" say.

butterless butter (the "I cant believeits not butter" rubbish) and sugarless sugar (splenda etc) are not good (in my humble opinion).

use the real sugar, eat the real chocolate, spread real butter and consume REAL CHEESE. but as with all 'high risk ' foods do so in moderation. especially if you are a diabetic.
My guess is no. But it is still fairly new. I do believe however that splenda is taken from sugar, not made of something chemical.
I'm not sure about where you live, but where I live breathing the air and drinking the water can cause cancer.
Splenda (sucralose) passed all safety tests in animal studies. So there is no reason to suspect that Splenda causes any harm. It's the safest of all the artificial sweeteners.
Based on extensive lab tests Splenda is the safest artificial sweetener available.
