How was Lorenzo before & after he was diagnosed with ALD?

Have you seen the movie? It shows it all. Basically Lorenzo was a normal kid beforehand. He could do everything you expect a child to do...in fact, I think he was rather bright too. Then he started getting symptoms, like loss of motor control - he couldn't move the way he wanted and would fall and crash. He also lost hearing at one point, and then lost muscular control and the ability to speak. It was very sad.
