I've had for like a year and a half now..i thought it would go away and it hasnt. What is it?

It's probably a lump in one of your armpits that wont go away.
could be an ingrown hair - or a pimple or a wart - best to have a doctor or even pharmacist have a look at it, specially if it's big (swollen lymph node could be a symtom for something else being wrong)
Don't freak out but it could be cancerous. Go to a doctor and get it checked out!!
I had a lymph node a while ago, it was easily treated with a course of penicillin or dalicin if you are allergic to penicillin (as I am), though there may be better medication around nowadays. Go to the Drs and get it checked out. I'm a believer in Chinese medicine, so you could try a reputable Chinese medical practitioner or herbalist first if you like.
