my daughter used to almost constantly suffer from nits, i just couldnt get rid of them, she had hundreds, no one else in the family ever suffered from them, they must have loved her, anyway she came shopping with me once and asked me to buy coconut shampoo and conditioner, morrisons own make 54p each. soon after buying this i noticed her nits were gone, i never associated it with the shampoo [put it down to change in her hormones as she was getting older] until i read in the paper that nits dont like the smell of coconut,
honestly it really works, please give it a try before trying over the counter stuff,
you need to condition the hair so they cant grip before combing it.
Do this twice a day
It will work
have you tried putting lots of conditioner on your childs hair and trying to comb them out? brush her hair lots throughout the day. When my younger sisters caught nits from school they didnt wash their hair for about 2 weeks, the nits cant stay in dirty hair. its not ideal but it worked for them.
Kwell shampoo and the wet comb method should work .... just perservere.
neon nits
Vinegar solution(mix with water equal parts)rub into hair leave for ten minutes wash out with shampoo.
You have to keep combing them, everyday religiously. You must use conditioner, as that stuns the live lice. You also need to treat yourselves as well, because if someone in the family has them you will just keep spreading them around. It also could be coming from one of her friends too, so make sure that you put her hair up everyday to keep them away. I have been told that lice do not like high heat, so try blowing dry her hair as well, after combing the nits out.
I have a friend whos daughter seemed to contract lice on a regular basis when she was young.
The BEST remedy she found was mayonaise. It will kill the lice and the oil will loosen the nits for easy removal afterwards.
Make sure you slather it on nice and thick, cover with saran wrap and leave on for about 2 hours. Then rinse, comb and rinse again.
Good luck!

ok its expensive but it works. u use standard shampoo & conditioner. Asda pharmacy sell them too
all that stuff about dirty hair isnt true, you have to use a metal nit comb and do it twice a day, over the counter dont work, you have to get the live nits out first using a comb,so they cant lay more eggs, then when the live ones are gone try and get as many eggs out as you can by hand, spend a good hour going through them and pulling them out, within the next few days the other eggs will start hatching and you will get more live, you have to get them out before they have chance to hatch eggs too.keep doing it twice aday everyday, and the pests will soon go,but if you leave gaps in between doing the problem wont go away, its a visious cycle.
I had this problem with my daughter last year. If she is in school, you need to inform the school of the problem or she will just keep getting them because more likely than not, someone in her class probably has them.
As far as getting rid of them, you just have to keep combing them with the lice comb, Don't use the cheap plastic comb that comes with a lot of the shampoos though, invest in the metal ones made by RID, there is 2 different combs in a pack, one for bugs and one for eggs, they work wonders. After you do the initial treatment with the lice shampoo comb through it and get all of them out that you can, most of the others will be dead anyway, then every couple of days pack on the conditioner in her hair and comb through it again until you find nothing. Then after that, comb through her hair once a month just to make sure she don't get it again.
Make sure you are treating EVERYONE. tell everyone she plays with about it (sorry no room for embarasment where nits are concerned). If she has long hair keep it tied up and put gell on it.
One cure was to wet the hair with vinegar, then comb through with a fine comb, the vinegar softens the hair and makes it easier to remove the nits. Also use plenty of conditioner, leave for a while and comb through. I have found tea tree and lavender essential oils very successful too. These are all natural methods.
this may sound a bit bizarre but it really works. you will need to find a tree called billbao. once you find one you will need to get wood chippings off it once you have a bag full you will need to boil it with a pint of water for 10 min. then leave it cool. when the water has cooled you need to pour it all over the hair .look this up on this up on the web.
I suggest lemon juice "Jif " in plastic bottles, and place on head and scalp. Leave to dry for a few hours or overnight, and then wash out with a shampoo. Next use fine tooth comb to remove dead lice and dehydrated nit eggs. Try and keep your child's hair tied back to avoid touching other heads.
Also it is important to check clothes that your girl has worn as lice can crawl on clothes and then get in a child's head. Also it is important to change all linen. Alternatively you can iron all the linen taking note of seams where lice could congregate.
The electronic nit comb "robi comb" from Argos is excellent but maybe not so efficient on thick hair. If your child's hair is average thickness than the comb prevents fresh invasions after having done the lemon treatment.
I found that by checking and treating clothes and linen, together with treating the whole family has helped eradicate lice and eggs. Cheking every day although arduous helps to keep on top of the problem
Buy Lice Attack from, Boots. It's brill, its a coconut oil special shampoo and after years of problems found this the only one to work but do keep wet combing to check.. All combs come with the shampoo. It's a tenner you won't regret spending.
In the Argos book you will find a comb that will help you combat head lice and their eggs,
I think it’s about £40.00 they work,
it bleeps when you comb the hair and kills eggs and lice does not harm anyone else just the lice/eggs,
I do not have the new book or I would give you the code and page number.
go to your local pharmacy they will recomend the latest shampoo etc the nits get so used to the the old treatments there are up to date treatments all the time also read the recomended usage on the leaflets inclosed
