Answer:
Unfortunately, there is no cure for diabetes. While there are many contributing factors, such as being overweight, it is also passed down through generations. My father had always warned me when I was a child if I kept up with my bad habits of sugar-filled soft drinks and food, I would end up with diabetes. My aunts and uncles had it, even lost limbs to it (yes, you may have to have a leg amputated, etc., due to diabetes), on both sides of my family.

Although there are advances in medical science everyday, no one has cured diabetes yet, but have come up with several ways to help manage it. For starters, when I first learned I had diabetes through a blood test, I was immediately set up for an appointment with a diabetic nurse and a nutrition, not to mention my doctor. The Doctor has me on a prescription drug called Metformin, which helps my body tell itself how much sugar it should produce. The next step up I think would be Insulin, which is injected, my father gives himself two needles everyday, my boyfriend's mother has four needles a day I believe.

The diabetic nurse set me up with a blood glucose monitor, a little device which pricks my finger and lets me know how my sugar is doing. A normal range is between 4 and 6. If your sugar is too high, you will probably feel really crappy.. really thirsty, run down, tired... also, if your sugar is too low, you will feel really crappy... so it's important to stay in the normal range. Exercising can reduce your sugar levels, along with eating the right foods. Sometimes you can overdo it - if your sugar levels are about right and you overdo it exercising, you can suddenly have a drop in your sugars, which is why it's important to keep some lifesavers or some kind of sugar handy - you could literally collapse at the gym/wherever.

The nutritionist taught me which foods to stay away from, and which foods were best. She also taught me about portion sizes and other things - for example, a new diabetic may not suspect that healthy fruits and juices could skyrocket their sugar levels because of the natural sugars in these foods.

With daily monitoring of blood sugar levels, learning what works for you and what doesnt food-wise, continue to visit and have check ups with your doctor, and sticking to a regular exercise regime, your diabetes can be well-managed.

(I've actually heard of a medicine that's out now for cats, that eliminates their diabetes. I've only heard of it the one time, but hopefully this could be one of the first steps in the future to eliminate human diabetes.)

Penis BUMP Please Help?

Well that depends. There is 2 kinds of Diabetes. Type 1 and Type 2. Type one is juvenile onset and is usually caused by genetics or an illness that you get repetedly and will shut down your pancreas because it gets too weak to fight any longer. (this is what happened to me). Then the Type 2 is Aduly onset. Usually brought on by obesity and also genetics. Your pancreas has one purpose and that is to produce insulin. The more you eat the more insulin your pancreas is has to produce to keep your blood sugars normal. Also when you are sick, your body needs to produce more insulin because it throws your body out of whack by causing a chemical embalance. Best way for prevention is to not over eat, stay away from "white" foods such as flour and sugar, and basically just try and keep youraself healthy. I hope this helps. This is nt from an article. I have been diabetic for 15 years. Im 26 now and was diagnosed at age 11. Any more questions feel free to email me at camalina80 at charter dot net
