Has anyone ever heard of shingles being on the inside of your body?

Question:

Answers:
what are shingles? Roof shingles?
The virus that causes shingles lives in the nerve cells that sense pain in your skin. So, in a sense, it's always inside the body but you feel it as burning on the skin. Since nerves also sense pain in internal organs, I guess it's possible that a person might have internal pain from shingles.
Chicken pox can occur in the mouth -- not sure if Shingles can occur inside body -- though it does travel on the nerves

"...Another complication called the Ramsay Hunt syndrome occurs when the varicella-zoster virus spreads to the facial nerve, causing intense ear pain. The rash can appear on the outer ear, inside the ear canal, on the soft palate (part of the roof of the mouth), around the mouth and on the face, neck and scalp. The hearing loss, vertigo and facial paralysis that may result are usually, but not always, temporary."
Once you have had chicken pox, the virus, called varicella-zoster, stays inside you forever, lying dormant in nerves near the spinal cord. Stress, aging, or a weakened immune system may reactivate the virus, which can then slink along nerve tracts, causing persistent pain and nasty skin rashes—a condition known as shingles.
yes i have heard of it ,because i had it .i had the worst ear ache in the world went to the doctor, found out it was tinny little blisters, witch they call it chicken pocks!because i didnt have a bad case of them when i was yunger.now i can get it again, but thank god i havent!it is now called shingles.and yes u can get it on the inside of your body.
what William said was right. but it can all so cause death. so i would think if untreated it would cause internal damage to be deadly.

Hemommo4 I stand to be corrected but I think ya got it backwards. my wife had it and a couple of Friends. I've been lead to believe people who have never had chicken pox are more prone to getting shingles.
