Answers:
The supplement you are using may be helping with the T4 to T3 conversion. If your free t3 levels have been below midrange, why not try a T4/T3 medication like Armour.
I use Armour and it has helped with most symptoms. I do take a thyroid supplement as well that can be bought over the counter. It contains ltyrosine, zinc, selenium, iodine, and C.
I have to disclaim that I am not in any way a health practitioner. But I do have a little school under my belt.so.If you were had low levels of T3/T4 and were supplementing with thyroxine, which is T4, you may still have a under active thyroid. T4 supplementation would only treat you symptoms and from the sound of it, not very well. The newer TSM has two key components, iodine, which is essential for T4/T3 production and tyrosine which is the precursor molecule for both T3/T4. It almost appears that you might have a diet lacking in tyrosine or iodine as both of these are easily acquired from food. As far as the eczema, I'm not aware of a connection with the thyroid, food allergy's are very common for a flair up of the condition. Check with you Dr. about possible food or drug allergy's.
