astringent and toner, you mean.
basically the same thing used to cleanse your face. i think toner is just a fancier name.
i could be wrong though.
witch hazel is an example of an "astringent" that works rather well and is cheep as heck. and if you look at "toners" they have witch hazel in them... soo yeh, that's as much as i know.
Astringent is stronger, usually better for oilier skins. Toner is more like witch hazel, has a mild cleaning effect.
