There is an alternative treatment to "Stent implants ", involving wraping the extremeties ,arms & legs , With cuffs similar to blood pressure cuffs & applying pressure to the extremeties W these cuffs & thereby supposedly opening blocked arteries & clogs .What is this procerure called ?
Answers:
The procedure does not open the arteries nor is it associated with increased survival. It is associated with a decrease in angina (chest pain) in patients with heart disease. I do not know of any randomized trials that show its effectiveness though. Not many centers provide this treatment likely because of the lack of data.
