If I should ever get hired at a job, should I tell the employee that I am anemic?

Question:
The last job I had, I was fired under false statements made by the manager and because the boss said I was too "slow" at what I was doing. I do know that I was kind of slow when I was pushing around the shopping carts outside, but I'm anemic and it was the week before my period. I usually suffer from extreme cases of fatigue (more so than usual) a week before my period. I can go home and sleep for 12-14 hours straight. I feel weak, irritated, and just tired. And I had to push around carts for an hour so I got really tired after 15 minutes.

And for reference, my hands to feet are always freezing cold, my skin is pale, I have dark circles that come and go, I breathe heavily, and once in a blue moon and I move too fast, I black out for 2 seconds.

If you're feeling so bad, why not go to the doctor and get some blood work done? I get a vitamin B12 shot once a week and take iron pills to keep myself well. I used to sleep all night then nap all day. Now I have a nap maybe once a week. It's important to take care of yourself with anemia. Very bad long-term health problems can result from not treating it. I used to have a twitch in my back and under my left eye. Since starting the B12 shots, it has gone away.

When I get my first job in my field, I may have to tell my employer about my asthma and anemia. I don't think it would be a big deal for me. I'm a skilled person and throwing me away for something that's easily treatable is a huge waste. On the other hand, some people just work slow. Maybe they mistaken your anemia for being lazy?

It sounds like you are experiencing serious symptoms. Please see a doctor and get a check-up. Vitamin B12 and Iron pills are cheap and you can buy them in K-mart, etc... If you're supposed to take B12 and pills don't work, getting shots should work better. That's what I do. The pills upset my stomach and do nothing. The shots work well. A problem is that injectable B12 and insulin needles to give it with are available by prescription only, in the US. In Canada, I buy it at the drug store without prescription. I went to my doctor's office in Pennsylvania to get several shots when I was there for a few months. They charged $5 a shot, which seems pretty reasonable.
It sounds like you might have iron deficency anemia. Go see a doctor to see if this is right. If it is, there is a simple "cure". Take iron supplements. Women often don't eat enough foods to get the daily amount of iron needed so they can take multivitamins with iron. Foods like brocolli, green leafy vegies, milk,etc...
legaly it's not thier problem and it is illega for them to fire u based on that, but I tell my bosses about my disability all the time, thy are more understanding that way, or if they don't hire u, it might be for the better good, but see a doctor, and tak to him about it.
I think you should see a dr first - the extent of your pre menstrual symptoms are too extreme to be "normal" . I would tell your next boss that you have a medical condition that can flare up at times and you will tell him /her when this is occuring . But if you go to a decent dr you may get better !!
