Can any dermatologist help me? (piebaldism)?

Question:

Hi, I am seventeen years old and I was told I had piebaldism. It's very depressing having this condition. A couple of weeks back I was asked by a friend if I wanted to go to the swimming baths, I said no but really I wanted to, but I don't want to show certain parts of my body. My real question is there a treatment were I can hide it or get rid of it. Please help someone (anyone).

I'm not a dermatologist, but I share your pain. I was online doing research and came across your question, creating an account to answer it. I'm 25. Dermablend is a great product, water resistant if you use the recommended powder and let it dry completely. I am currently using UVB narrowband, it is a slow process but it is definitely working (I purchased one online from Australia~$800). It's dangerous playing with light so definitely do your research and be careful. If I could afford the surgical route I would, as it is a 90-100% repigmentation for pie baldism. Summer is definitely the worst, but I bet if you got the courage to share with a friend/s you trust, you'd be suprised how fast they accept. My friends, once I finally let them (showed them) were amazing and incidently strangers seem to matter less and less.
