Self pity! what will gonna ease the pain?
Question:

This is a condition that most, if not all of us suffer from at one time or another. I have and still do, more often than I'd like to admit, but here are some things that have helped me get out of it.
1. Recognize that you are not alone, we all suffer in the same way.
2. Consider all the things that you do have that make you happy. This could be as simple as a room to sleep in. If you don't have a room, you probably have a blanket and maybe a pillow. That is better than a piece of cardboard.
This could include non-material things, like knowing how to use a computer or a pretty day.
3. Get outside and get some exercise, preferably something fun. Since I have had my Trikke 8 cambering HPV-PPV scooter I want to get out and ride it through the fresh air. When I get back home I always feel more alive and happier.
4. Do something for somebody that needs it. This could be volunteering at a soup kitchen, taking a sick friend some magazines or books, taking some one without a car to the store, or even calling a friend.
5. Decide that self pity is like worry; it doesn't help and it is a waste of time.
6. This is it. This is your life. The time wont come back. Decide what you want to do with your life and work to make it happen. Peace and blessings on you.
When I answered I was not aware you had cancer. If I said anything wrong, please forgive me. I also have an illness that in my case is incurable, save a miracle. These are the things I have done that have helped me.

Okay, first of all, ignore the people telling you to do drugs. Second, we all go through something like this at one point or another, but sometimes more than others. You may want to see a doctor about it and see if you have clinical depression or so. If that's not the case, you just need some positivity in your life! Find something you enjoy doing, people you enjoy being around, do something that makes you happy. Then, if all else fails, make a list of 50 things or more that you know are positive things about YOU. They can be little. I've made a list like that and one of my things were "I have great handwriting." see, it can be very small, but in the long run, you'll have a list of 50 things to feel good about yourself.
