Stem cell treatmets are offered in specialized medical centers with dedicated transplant units. The units are self contained to keep the patient isolated and away from dangerous germs during the treatment.

The treatment consists of giving high dose chemotherapy to destroy all microscopic cancer cells. Treatment will also destroy the immune system and require six weeks of isolation while awaiting the new stem cells to graft. A patient can expect to be isolated in a transplant ward for four to six weeks, take additional precautions for up to six months to a year while waiting for the stem cells to regrow the immune system. No legitimate medical clinic without these precautions would offer such a treatment. Not everyone is a candidate for stem cell transplant for many reasons.
