Side pain in lower abdomen all the way up to my rib cage?

Question:

I can feel a small knot underneath my skin in my lower abdomen. When I push in it, it hurts. I think I have a small intestinal hernia. The lump doesn't go back in when I push on it. My question is, does this warrant a visit to the emergency room ASAP, or can it wait to have it looked at by my doctor on Monday?

Depends on what side the lump is. If it is the right side, it may be your appendix, which should be looked at. If it is your left side, that can wait until tomorrow. You can also look in the phone book and call an on-call nurse and ask them. They are better at telling you what you should do for the pain and when an ER visit is necessary. I know in my area we have one of those, also if you call your DR's office, a 24 hour answering service may pick up and give you numbers to call. Any shooting, stabbing pain in right lower abdomen- I would go in...

i say emergency because yu never know it could be somthing serious

If your in a LOT of pain...I would go to the E.R. Better to be safe than sorry.

If you start hurting really bad go on to the hospital. If not wait and see you doc.

emergency room you messed up your rib cage bad i dont know how you did it but you need to visit one ASAP or else if you stretch the knot out you could mess your rib cage out of place k:(

if it only hurts when u push on it and its not unbearable u can prob. wait til monday. but if anything else hurts go to the ER. good luck! ~xoxxo
