If you have oral sex with a person with genital herpes will you acquire genital or oral herpes yourself?
Question:
Answers:
If they have genital herpes and not oral herpes nad they give you oral sex, you won't get ANYTHING.
If they have genital herpes AND they have a SEPARATE oral herpes infection (they are completely unrelated) there is a risk they could give you genital herpes if they give you oral sex.
If they have genital herpes and you give THEM oral sex there is a small risk you could get oral herpes (cold sores).
If they have oral herpes and NOT genital herpes there is a risk they could give you genital herpes through oral sex (this is how I caught genital herpes).
If YOU have oral herpes and you give a partner oral sex then you could give them genital herpes.
There are two types of herpes, type 1 and type 2.
Type 1 usually infects the mouth but also accounts for half new cases of genital herpes. It is usually passed to the genitals through the practice of oral sex. It is milder and less infectious when on the genitals and more severe and infectious when on the mouth.
Type 2 usually affects the genitals but 5% of cases are probably oral. It is milder when on the mouth and more severe and infectious when on the genitals.
Very easily, yes.
Herpes is spread through direct vaginal, oral, or anal sexual contact with an infected partner. You can get genital herpes from someone if they are performing oral sex on you and they have a history of cold sores in their mouth region.
People do not need to be having an "outbreak" to be infectious as the virus is also "shed" when there are no symptoms present. A mom can also infect her infant during pregnancy or birth.
Yes, it is possible.
I recomend you seeing a doctor immediatly if you did participate in these actions with someone who had herpes.
Most of the time you can But the person must be having an outbreak to increase the risk of an individual contracting the virus..The risk is lower if in fact the individual is not having the outbreak. All I can say to be sure use condoms condoms condoms. If you have herpes DO NOT give oral sex unless you have a dental dam or something to protect the other person, since you may not be aware of the outbreaks you have in your mouth.
well if they are performing it on you and you have genital herpes yes they can get herpes and vise versa but if you give them oral sex and you are the one with hereps then no
if they have herpes orally and give you oral sex then they can give you herpes, be careful b/c you can get genital herpes frm someone's cold sore in the act of oral sex b/c it's type one herpes
always use condoms and dental dams when performing oral sex
rap it up be safe honey
HSV lives in moist tissue...mouth...genitals.y... I'd say they're both moist!
Herpes is transmitted via skin to skin contact. If the person in on suppressive therapy, ie.Valtrex, the possibility of transmission decreases though it vould still happen. I suggest using a dental dam for protection. If you have oral sex you could get oral herpes, though you can also get this from kissing someone with a cold sore. Or you could get it from drinking out of the same glass as someone with a coldsore.
You can. Herpes can be spread from the mouth to the genitals and vice versa through oral sex.
If a person has cold sores and gives a person oral sex, the person "receiving" can develop genital herpes.
And, if a person has genital herpes and a person gives them oral sex, the person "giving" can develop cold sores.
Both cold sores and genital herpes can be caused by either herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1) or herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV2). Usually cold sores are caused by HSV1, while genital herpes is caused by HSV2, but BOTH genital herpes and cold sores can be caused by either HSV1 or HSV2.
YES SIR!!
If contracted, you will contract exactly what they have. The virus does not change. You would get HSV2 (genital herpes) on or in your mouth. The opposite is also true, if you have HSV1 you can transfer it to someone's genitals, and it still remains HSV1. The two strains are different and do not morph back and forth.
