Dizzy and temporary loss of sight- should I do something?
Question:
This has happened before. One of the first incidents was seven years ago, while I was playing basketball. There doesn't seem to be any similarties among these incidents- sitting, walking, running, it hits at random.
These incidents are nearly always months apart, but I'm worried- what if it hits while I'm driving? And they used to clear up quickly- two, three seconds at most. Now I'm blinded for several times as long- still mere seconds, but long enough for something dangerous to happen, particularly behind the wheel.
Yes, I wear contacts- started wearing them two years ago. So, it's not them. I started wearing glass nearly three years before the first time.
Should I do something?
Answers:
I think you need to see a doctor. Yes, this could happen while driving. The two times you mentioned here were both standing. Try to remember what you were doing each time. This will be of benefit to the doctor.
you should probably see a doctor just to be safe
Possible diabetes.
see your doctor because that could be serious.

woe i would really be freaking out if i were u
try seeing a doctor just to be safe
hope u get better :)
See a doctor right away. It could be as simple as hypoglycemia - lack of sugar in your blood. My sister is dangerously hypo and passes out if she doesn't eat regularly.
The test is simple and at least you would know.
Dehydration? See a Doctor they would know better.
has happened twice to my fiance. both times were due to dehydration...white out not darkness.
Yes, you should go to the doctor. Your 'dizziness' and 'white blindness' may be a symptom of low blood pressure, but seriously low blood pressure can kill a person as easily as high blood pressure. The only way you can 'tell' if this is something you can 'cure yourself' by rising more slowly, not stretching when stand, etc.; or you'll need medication to control it is to go to the doctor and be tested. What if these symptoms are only 'symptoms of something 'easily curable,' but you don't get the medicine you need in time ... who knows what could happen, and you could 'harm others' as well as yourself. GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!
