How do you get rid of pinworms without telling your parents?

please help. i know they are pinworms. i had them when i was 5 or 6 and i know the doctors give you a pill. but if i told my parents, they'll be grossed out and i'd feel ocward. so is there something at home that can help get rid of them?

Pinworms are just an infection. Very easy to get, and nothing to be embarrassed about. Tell your parents so they can take you to a doctor to get treated.

There are no reliable over the counter or home remedies to treat this type of infection.

This infection requires a precription anthelmintic. Your parents won't be grossed out. No need to feel awkward either. First it has to determined that you really do have a pinworm infection.

Your parents must know this. If one family member has pinworms, the entire family should be treated.

1. Pinworm medications. Antibiotics do not affect pinworms. Pyrantel (Pin-X) was formerly a prescription antithelmintic (antiparasitic). Now it is available over-the-counter. There are also prescription medications a doctor can prescribe.
2. Bedding and towels should be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer.
3. The home should be vacuumed and the vacuum bag carefully discarded.

Having pinworms doesn't mean you're dirty, gross, unclean, nasty, or careless. Pinworm eggs travel from feces (poop) to your mouth, usually under your fingernails. You can even get them from careless restaurant workers!

you have to tell them and nope they won't gross out you will though i am sure its not your fault and you need to tell them so they can get something for you to rid of them.
