Answers:
i can empathise with you. i was bitten on my face by something while holidaying in turkey a few years ago and it was a complete nightmare. my lips and jaw swelled up like a friggin balloon. i was confined to bed with severe blood poisoning for a week, was put on all sorts of medication, ended up in A&E twice after i came home and suffered the most pain ive experienced since childbirth. im almost certain that the ants did this to you. the travel company will initially try to avoid blame but i advise you to take this further using medical documents from your doctor and any copies of prescriptions. this was a severe reaction, not a bloody nettle sting. gather your evidence, get legal advice and help from a friend/family member and sue their asses. i am not a litigious person but you clearly should be compensated.
Firstly, I hope you are feeling better. The ants in Spain can be a huge problem. I live here and I've had a similar thing! Secondly, get your doctor to write a letter to your travel insurance company explaining what happened to you. Thirdly, get hold of your travel company and ask for a claims form. Did you get any photos of the ants? If so, this will help your claim alot. Don't let the travel company get away with this. If there was a problem where you were, they must do something about it by law. Do you want the same thing to happen to someone else?
I hope this helps. Good luck!
I don't mean to be callous, but please, don't ever think of coming here Downunder.
You should see the voracious green ants we have to put up with here!
I had this recently in Scotland and was told it wasn't a wasp but something like an ant or a clegg, you can only get it cleared up with antibiotics. I presume this was your first visit to Spain? the ants are always there no matter how clean the rooms are, they should have come in and sprayed the rooms.
