How can I soothe my sore throat?

Question:
I have already been to the doctors. I do not have strep, but there are white spots all over my throat. I was told it is just a virus and there is nothing they can do. I need to gargle with salt water. any suggestions??

Answers:
a disease similar to strep is mononucleosis, which comes with a VERY sore throat and white spots on your tonsils and lymph nodes. It is a dangerous disease and needs medical care. Go to another doctor and make them examineate you better. You can never know...

Or it could just be some minor disease, in which case drink hot tea with lemons and honey or eat some minty candies
gargle with salt water (warm) , drink lots of water (cold), eat italian ice, popscicles and ice cream.oh and take motrin every 6 hours according to your body weight if you aren't allergic. you can also get cepacol spray or lozenges at CVS
try chloraseptic spray
i like to drink lots of warm, but not hot, tea...and u can buy this stuff at pharmacies i don't remember what its called, buts its basically a local anaesthetic (sp?), so u spray it on and it numbs the surface of ur throat. ask the pharmacist at the pharmacy, they should be able to help
