oh you poor person! i am very allergic to poison ivy and have had to deal with full coverage several times...i wish i had a magic bullet but i dont.if anyone around the house has some vicadin or some kind of sleepong meds you may consider that...maybe calamine or some over the counter anti itch stuff could help some, although that is like a bb gun vs. a tank...
oh well i really just wanted to offer my emapthy and say GL to to you. these things will pass hang in man!
I am sure that if you go to the Doctor it will be resolved.
What were you doing, putting your face in it?
The doctor gave you the steroids to stop the inflammation. Stick to the dosage schedule at all costs. Unfortunately, you're stuck with the welts for several weeks.
If you are still itching, tell your doctor. He may not have prescribed a high enough dosage. I got nailed with posion ivy or oak this spring, and had to go through a second round of treatment, as the first prescription wasn't strong enough, and the inflammation and itching came back, full force.
Don't be surprised if the steroids mess up your sleep schedule and make you gain weight. Both happened to me.
Wow, what happened? You fall into a patch of it?
Calamine lotion applied a couple times a day will reduce the itch and speed healing. Your doctor may be able to offer other than over the counter medications, but Calamine lotion will work.
If it is on your face and eyes, go to the doctor and he will give you a cortisone shot. This is the the most effective treatment for a systemic problem. It may take more than one shot.
