Answers:
Chicken pox caused by viral, and self limitted dissease. It's harmfull to adult than to kids.
Well, i use to advice my adult patient to :
- take acyclovir 6 x 400 mg.
- apply acyclovir zalf every 2 hours (especially female face)
- consume vitamin C 1x1 tab (sometimes vitamin A is added)
- take paracetamol 3 x 500 mg / day.
- No excercise. Must stay at home and get some rest.
- Take a bath, at least 1x / days.
- Diet : anything, you can even eat ice cream if you want to.
- Don't put any powder talcum to the lessions.
- Don't consume any steroid preparation.
- No perfume soap.
- No alchohol face cleaner. Use only mild soap to cleans your face.
- Changing cloth everyday.
- Never scratch. If you take bath regularly, there's no reason it's gonna itch.

Little different for kids :
- acyclovir or isoprinosin (dose depend on age and weight), but it's not 'a must'.
- acyclovir zalf.
- paracetamol
- other, same with adult.

Chicken pox contagious when get dry (about days 7th). If there's children / adult around you that never cought chicken pox before, they better get vaccination. I dont know if it's available in your country, but it is in my country (Brand : Varilrix manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline) and many European country.

Good luck.
This is what happened when my daughter was diagnosed with chicken pox.

We were sent home with her and we were told to keep her away from other people, so she stayed in the house. There wasn't any medication per say. How ever you can use Aveeno, which is an Oat meal bath to help with the itching.

Also we were told not to let her scratch, since it will/can cause scars to the areas where ever the scabs are located if they are scratched off.

We were told that she shouldn't be around others until all the scabs are gone totally.

That is about all that you can do, other than trying to keep the person happy and busy.

Also if the person were to get worse then of course call the doctor, but there isn't much as far a medicine. It just has to run it's course.

I hope that this helps you out.
