Oral thrush?
Question:
Answers:
Thrush is a yeast infection. The "good" bacteria in your body tend to keep it in check. Antibiotics get rid of all bacteria so that thrush can thrive. Eat plenty of live yoghurt and keep it in your mouth for a while before you swallow it. If you don't like yoghurt, the drink version is just as good (just twice the price).
You poor thing, if it is oral thrush, you will need something to clear up the yeast. I dont think it is antibiotics you need, but more like you use for thrush in other places.
Throw away your toothbrush now, and buy 2 new ones, 1 to use while it is clearing up, and one to use after it clears up.
Dont kiss your boyfriend, and i hope it clears up soon!
Also yes I think it could be all the antibiotics you are taking that would mess with your bodies balance!
yes i'm afraid strong antibiotics cause thrush. it will clear up eventually.
Sounds like thrush ( oral yeast) and the antibiotics would be the cause. Contact your oral surgeon and get a nystatan rinse and you should see improvement in a day or two. In the mean time no kissy face until your both free of this. Good luck!
Could certainly be... The doc can tell you and order oral nystatin to clear it up for both of you. Until then, limit your sugar to almost none and do salt water rinses to help keep the yeast at bay.
Antibiotics can cause Thrush, especially penicillin. Check with your Doctor.
Sounds like thrush.
Antibiotics enable Thrush (candida) to grow, as they kill all the
good bacteria which stops it normally, so no, they
wont kill the Thrush
go to the chemist, tell them and they will give you
a mouth wash/gargle. It should take 3-4 days to clear up.
If it's started downstairs you can get once only pessaries
for it these days.
It sure sounds like thrush to me. Thrush is caused by the antibiotics so no it won't get better from them. You can try some probiotics (health food stores) like acidophilis tablets to replace the ones killed by the antibiotics. You can try gensian violet (something like that) health food stores to kill it but it's purple. Or call the dr and he'll give you a pill to take. Boyfriend needs it too.
it is the antibiotics and plain yogurt will eliminate it in your throat and mouth. You can mash a banana into it to improve taste. Give it time to work. They have a cream for feminine itching which is also caused by antibiotics. Many women have this problem when taking them.
Antibiotics can and do cause thrush. There are now preparations on the market which you can get from a chemist that will cure it, wherever it might be.
I would say so - tastes like you've just eaten wallpaper paste! You'd be best to pop into your chemist and chat with the pharmacist. There is a cream to take (bit like the canisten stuff) and a pill (fluconazole) and a mouthwash that is designed for oral thrush. I would suggest you do this soon because it can take ages to clear up.
It sounds like it. It's a yeast infection. Antibiotics can cause yeast infections. There are special meds for thrush.call your Drs - both of you.
ITS THE ANTIBIOTICS YOUR ON GO BACK 2 UR GP AND THEY CAN PRESCRIBE SOME LOZENGES 2 GET RID OF IT OR U COULD GARGLE IN MOUTH WASH AS THIS KILLS THE BACTERIA 2
Yes, antibiotics caused the thrush because the antibiotics kill all bacteria, even the healthy bacteria we have in our mouths, in our vagina, etc. When the healthy bacteria is killed, then you get yeast infection or thrush. The medication you're on is causing it; it won't cure it. It will go away on its own but why wait & suffer. There is an antifungal prescription rinse called Nystatin that will clear it up. Just call your doctor and tell him/her what you are experiencing. Best wishes.
I have suffered from oral thrush after antibiotics and understand your suffering!! Ask your GP for Nystatin pastilles - they should sort you out. Not sure if you can get them over the counter - you could try asking your pharmacist.
