My brother in law has had a cat scan.they told him it could possibly a brain tumour or could be an infection.?

Question:
we are all pretty worried.wont find out till monday what the test results are.serious answers please.what are the chances it is just an infection.we are all hoping for this..and if at worst it is a tumour.what can we expect?is it curable?what is the recovery rate?any information would help thanks.

Answers:
You should wait for the results first. Even if it is a bad news, brain tumor is not incurable.

I met a lady in the hospital, She has lung cancer with metastasis to her spine and 5 tumors in her brain. She depended on morphine shots to stop the pains in her spine and head when coming to the hospital. She could not get up without help.

Amazingly, After 2 months of treatment with combined western medicines and Chinese medicines, she now walks few kilometer everyday. So you shouldn't worry too much.

There is NO way to tell you either way without knowing the history about the patient as well as the CT scan.

No doctor can tell you what is going on with what you have posted.
Try not to worry too much, worrying is only useful if it achieves a solution.

Wait for a complete diagnosis before you start to panic.

Remember," you conquer adversity the same way you would eat an elephant, one bite at a time"

"A CT scan of the brain may be performed to assess the brain for tumors and other lesions, injuries, intracranial bleeding, structural anomalies such as hydrocephalus, infections, brain function or other conditions, particularly when another type of examination such as x-rays or physical examination are not conclusive.

A CT scan of the brain may also be used to evaluate the effects of treatment on brain tumors and to detect clots in the brain that may be responsible for strokes. Another use of brain CT is to provide guidance for brain surgery or biopsies of brain tissue.

There may be other reasons for your physician to recommend a CT scan of the brain."
