My 14 day old baby has orange discharge from his left eye after sleeping.?

Question:
I already saw a doctor and he gave me the standard pink eye medicine. It's not working and I don't think that was the problem anyway. It's a large amount of bright orange discharge that partially seals his eye shut. Otherwise my baby is healthy.

Answers:
take your baby back to the doctor! Eye discharge in infants can be very dangerous. My son was diagnosed with HSV when he was 9 days old. Me nor my husband have the virus. His doctor eventually said that is could have been caused by anybody that touched him with the virus, even if it was dormant. It is very dangerous in infants and they can go from very healthy to very sick in just a few hours. My sons pediatrician had him swabbed and checked because of the discharge in his eye. Better safe right? Please update if you will?
Babies can be born with eye infections if there is no c-section. See another doctor.
