I have a serious problem. I have a tendancy to not eat for days at a time.?

Answers:
I have that problem. I battled anorexia nervosa and won when I was 13, last year. I wouldn't eat for a week at a time. To this day, I have to remind myself to eat at least once a day. Maybe set a watch. I know how hard it was. I was in inpatient for a while for several problems, including anorexia. I don't think it helped me at all. =/ But then again, I'm a minor so it might be different for you... but anyways, try to just remind yourself to eat, even if it's just a piece of rolled up turkey or something. Or you could make it a big deal and tell yourself that if you can eat at least once a day (start small, but increase your goals) for a month, you can get yourself something you might really want, such as a new TV or something, reward yourself for doing a good job. Hopefully you and I will one day be able to eat 3 normal meals a day with work and will power. I also find that I lean on my religion for help (I'm Wiccan, but it doesn't matter, you can lean on any religion or none at all for help if you truely need it) when things are really bad. And friends can always help.
I really hope you have good luck. If you want any support or something, you can always e-mail me (st.jimmy.nbs@sbcglobal.net), because I know how important support can be.
Good luck!
Yes, I think you will need to seek some additional help from a qualified therapist to really get to the root of the problem.
But, I must commend you for taking the first two steps - admitting you have a problem and wanting to change it. Those are good signs that you'll be able to start a healthy relationship with food.
Please, don't be scared and get the help you really need.
It sounds like you may have an eating disorder, but than again I'm not a professional. I think it also depends on the reason you are not eating. Is it more about you not wanting to gain weight, or because you cannot physically eat the food you want. I think you are also dealing with issues about your mother the only way you might know. It might be a good idea to speak to a psychologist about your problem. I am not sure about going to an inpatient progam, unless you are diagnosed with an actual eating disorder. They usually just force people to eat, make them put on pounds so they are at their normal weight. Then send them on their way. I think your best bet is to go to a psychologist so you can get over whatever is stopping you from eating, if that is possible. All of your memories with food seem to be connected to negativity because of what you went through when you were a child. If you can maybe you should seek ways to change your outlook on food in general to a more positive feeling. I'm sure there are ways. [Try making new dishes, with ingredients you love. Just an idea, I'm not sure if it would actually work.]
