You can't "Catch" it but many young teenagers can be influenced into becoming anorexic by the unrealistic expectations of what they should look like from society and Hollywood.

No, it's not contagious, BUT it is very easy to develop due to you self esteem, background, upbringing, etc. It can't be passed from person to person like a cold, but people can cause others to develop it. Anorexia is a mental condition/disorder, and the victim usually deems themself "fat & unattractive"- It is certainly NOT contagious. If you know someone with this condition- please educate urself. Due to lack of potassium, this may effect the heart, and lead to an untimely death. Good luck and take care!
