Whats the best treatment for a nine year old boys migrane?
Question:
Answers:
if he was diagnosed with migraine the dr should have given you some treatment options.
i would suggest keeping a diary of the migraines. where, when, what he was doing, what he ate/drank , the weather outside everything

there are some triggers that are less commonly known that can affect migraines. i know there are certain things i can NOT eat or drink in order to avoid a migraine, my biggest triggers are the weather (extreme temperatures, low pressure fronts) and artificial sweeteners, (i can drink/eat NOTHING diet).
try and see if you can find a common trigger. and then do everything you can to avoid it.
there are also preventative meds to take everyday (not sure on the age limit of those) and abortive medications for after it strikes(again not sure on the age limits) speak to the dr and ask for a plan of attack and the treatment options available to your sons age bracket. if you do not receive the information you desire or get no assistance find another dr. there are headache specialist and usually a neurologist may be in order. good luck
A pediatrician is the only person qualified to tell you that.
Frankly, this is a question the boy's parent's would be and should be asking his pediatrician. The word is migraine.
I'm an adult with migraines, but have had them since childhood. Meds are much more advanced since then.
My meds are Maxalt (melts on your tongue) or Imatrix nasal spray.(spelling of meds may be incorrect but any Dr. or Pharmacist will know.) In order for these to work at best, you have to take the meds at the onset of the headache.
The key though is to prevent them in the first place. Diet, stress, exercise, Chiropractic care, not to much caffeine.
If you have already had the boy checked by a physician, then try checking out information on food allergies and headaches. See if any of it makes any sense to you. Also, there is a product called, "Sinus Busters", that claims to help headaches. I am not certain whether it is recommended for children, but it may be worth a try. It is a nasal spray, and I have heard that it stings a lot, at first.
