Home Wart Removal?

Question:
What are some good home wart removal remedies? I have tried muliple store bought products that don't seem to work. And I don't want to have to go to the doctor and have it removed, thats gonna be my last resort.

The duct tape idea seems popular, but I don't have any duct tape. Will electrical tape or clear duct tape work as well?

Answers:
Here is a simple and inexpensive home remedy using apple cider vinegar that many people have used to remove warts in one week:

Each night before going to bed soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar, apply it to the wart and then hold it in place with a band-aid. Leave it on all night, or if you like, 24 hours a day but change the soaked cotton and band-aid each evening for a week.

The wart will swell and throb a little as it reacts with the vinegar and then start to turn black (usually with a white ring around it) within the first two days and after a week or two will fall off by itself.

Duct tape doesn't work. The over the counter remedies do work, it just takes some time for it to happen. Warts are tough critters to kill, and what you see on the surface isn't the part you have to fight. The wart virus is imbedded in a skin cell much further below that, and that's what you have to get to. The medication is exactly the same as what they use at a doctors office, including the liquid nitrogen kit. The liquid nitrogen works the fastest, but it can also be more painful since it burns surrounding skin as well. I know this because I work in a clinic and we do wart removal treatments almost everyday. We see lots of people who have tried the various home remedies, which haven't worked. We see lots of people who have used the store kits, but haven't used them long enough and have lost patience. Our way generally isn't much faster, but it is more expensive. The wart is caused by a virus, and it's just hard to kill off. If you can wait it out, your own body will eventually track it down and get rid of it, but exactly when that will happen is anyone's guess. My advice would be to pick a remedy from the store, and just stick with it. It may take months of daily treatments to finally shift them, but eventually they will disappear.
