Is possible to just have cancer?
Question:
Answers:
Cancer is a general umbrella term used to describe over 200 diseases, plus hundreds of subtypes. Essentially any cell within the human body can become malignant at any given time. If a mutation occurs in that one cell in the breast . . it is called breast cancer . . if the mutation occurs in the liver . . it is called liver cancer . . if the cell mutates in the colon . .it is called colon cancer. So, the type of cancer is determined by the cell of origin and its location in the body. All these types of cancer need separate treatments and drugs . . which is one main reason why cancer remains difficult to 'cure'. It is not just one disease, but hundreds and all need to be separately reseached.
u dont just have cancer, it has to be a type of cancer because when cancer cells are discovered by a doctor they usually are sent to a pathologist for analysis and they along with the doctor can figure out what kind of cancer the patient has. once the cancer type is known then we can effectively treat the patient
The term cancer just refers to the condition where the cells of an organ or system go rogue and reproduce inappropriately, and do not function as they should. You don't have just cancer, per se- you have cancer of a particular thing, like skin, bone, lung, etc.
There are all kinds of cancer. It is always located someplace, right? If you are concerned, please see a doctor to set your mind at ease.
