Does using alcohol on acne really work?
Question:
Answers:
um its going to dry out your skin, you won't have as many pimples, but you'll have a nasty dry cracky face
you just use a cotton ball leave it on, its not bad
Alcohol is an astringent, so it works like any other astringent would, to that extent and no more. You just dab it on with a piece of cotton wool or similar and let it dry naturally.
Alcohol is only bad for you if you drink it, i think.
oh no sweetie it dries your skin out
buy some acne and blemish facewash and mosturisors.. because if you put alcohol on your face it will start drying out your skin really bad and your body will start producing extra oil to help the dry skin..the excess oil will actually cause more pimples than when you started...
I would just go to a store and buy an astringent (sp?)...I know a lot of brands make them. Maybe also get a moisturizer.
Some of my friends have had success just using Clearsil. Right now I'm prescribed Retin-A, but that's for really bad, persistent Acne..
Good luck!
No, do not use alcohol on your face, your skin will be so tight and dry, get a good acne medicine and then apply a good moisturizer to your face, go to a local good department store to the cosmetics counter and ask someone.
Alcohol will help to kill germs so that pimples don't get infected or if infected the germs will be killed so the pimple infection, the redness and swelling, can heal. It also helps the pimple to dry up, but you have to watch that you don't get too much drying of your skin. You should leave the alcohol on your skin at least five or ten minutes to give it time to kill germs and viruses. You will want to use lotion or moisturizer with it or after you use the alcohol. You will probably want to try other remedies, as well. Hydrogen peroxide can also kill germs and will cause any pus in the pimple to foam up so you can wash it away. Personally, I didn't have much luck with Retin-A, but everyone's skin is a little different and you just have to try out different remedies to see what works best for you. Above all, keep your skin clean and avoid excessive sun exposure.
