Dark pimple like bump on my side. What could it be?

It's not raised too high and no tick head. In a spot that rubs so it's a little painful. I'd like to find some opinions before I try and go to the doctor's without insurance. :(

Never mind the money..go to the doctor and find out. What use is money if it is cancer and you are dead?

sounds like a mole, some moles on your skin will rise up a little and if thats what it is... just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't keep getting bigger cause it can be cancerous. Also you can have them removed if that is what it is.
it may be a boil. ive gotten those a lot on my side/butt area (fun right) if its a boil they usually go away after a while. you should google pictures and compare to what you have. the ones i get are usually dark sometimes purplish.
