Shadow on the lung what does it mean?

hi i ask a ? last week as i was worried when my 4 year old grandaughter was diagiosed with tb she had an xray and was put on medicine but the hostpital phone her mam yesterday to say they found a shadow on her lung and called her back for another xray please i am worried sick what does this mean they have told her to return in 6 weeks to see if it has shrunk or gone please help me if you can i am worried sick the tb she has is inactive whatever that means

I think if people on here answer you're going to get more scared than you already are... Cos it could mean a lot of things.. And Im sure you know they could be mild to severe in implication.

Its really best to wait for the diagnosis from the person dealing with her to let you know.

Sorry, I dont wanna sound like a cop-out, but sometimes its best to just wait for the right information.

Shadow on the lung means that the X-ray showed what we call a 'shadow'. It is an area of density. Can be hundreds of things... including plain old TB
The fact that they are not keeping her in hospital is a good
sign.Go see your GP, he will explain all, thats what they are
there for ! good luck
Don't worry too much,her kind of TB is not dangerous,she's probably just a carrier of the disease, the lung shadow maybe because she moved during the x-ray,if it was more serious they wouldn't wait 6wks.
