Okay, everybody! You can get Hepatitis B and C via unprotected sex. Look at these links:
1. Hepatitis B is spread via body fluids. This includes blood, semen, and saliva. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/hepat...
2. Hepatitis C is a bloodborne disease. If there is an exchange of blood during sex, even a microscopic amount, the virus can be transmitted. Your vagina (and your mouth!) is a mucous membrane; microscopic tears occur very easily. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hepatit...
What else can you get via unprotected sex? Pregnancy. HIV. Gonorrhea. Syphilis. Chlamydia. HPV (30 different kinds). Genital warts. Trichomoniasis. Pubic lice. Scabies. Yeast infections.
I volunteer at a womens health center; I give pregnancy tests and discuss STDs, pregnancy, and childbirth with clients.
Yes, you can get it. It is spread through body fluids. Don't listen to him!
Yes you can get hepatitis B by having sex especially anal sex. Don't mess around with that person. They picked it up from sex or a needle. Very infectious, and can be fatal.
Don't listen to him! Hep B and C are transmitted parenteraly, meaning through IV drug use, sex, or from mother to child (during birth or breast feeding)
Sounds to me that he just doesn't want to use a condom. Don't listen to him - actually, if he is willing to lie to you about that and put your life in danger, why would you want to sleep with him, and put up with whatever other lies that he might throw your way.
Tell him to kiss off!
such viruses can transmits through blood and minor wounds, don't u thinks it can transmits through mucous membranes and body fluid .(sexually)
YOU CAN GET HEPATITIS B AND C WITH UNPROTECTED SEX. I AGREE WITH THE OTHER ANSWERS. THE VIRUS CAN BE TRANSMITTED BY BODY FLUID EXCHANGE THROUGH MUCUS MEMBRANES. (pardon the all caps, just have to emphasis this.)
the hepatitis virus is even more easily transmissible than the HIV virus.
your friend is actually commiting a felony by knowingly having unprotected sex while having a transmissible disease. he should stop it.
Hepatitis B is sexually transmitted as well as by blood to blood. Hepatitis C is transmitted by blood to blood, not bodily fluids. If blood is exchanged during sex (MSM, rough sex, anal sex, or kinky [pins, needles, etc]) then it can be spread that way, too. If your friend is co-infected (both Hep B and C), then having unprotected sex with him will get you infected. It's not worth it. Besides, you never know what undiagnosed diseases someone might have. Best wishes.
