eating healthy is just as important as exercise--if not more
i'd say for optimal weight loss conditions--you want to focus 70% on diet, and 30% on exercise
keep intaking good healthy calories and you'll see your weight go down--stay away from alcohol, fatty foods, processed foods, fast food--all which will retain weight
and the most a human body can lose is about 1-2 lbs of fat per week
so given your time frame--you should expect to lose about 8 lbs or so in a month. (that is already fantastic numbers btw)

That's really good! keep it up-- i tried walking/jogging for like a few weeks and couldn't keep it up- no determination. That was 3 months ago- i wonder what i would like if i would've kept it up! Just eat alot of protein- no eating after 6 pm . lots of water-- good luck!
Sometimes it's best if you just do sit-up's to tighten your stomach. im surprised that you have the strength to write this...5 miles a day would kill me...but hey thats great
I would suggest that you jog in the morning to force your body to burn fat calories. Don't starve yourself the rest of the day. Your body will go to starvation mode and metabolism slows. Have fun at the beach. Eat lots of fruit.
