Why do I shake and feel low without snacking?

Question:
I try not to snack especially chocolate and other fatty foods, but when I eat Fruit when I am in between meals I am still hungry and crave sugar! If I dont have sugar I feel shakey and have no energy? What can I do?

Answers:
It's because sugar is an addictive substance, and like any addictive substance you feel withdrawal symptoms when you go without. The more addicted you are, the worse you feel. When I gave up eating sugar, I went through a week of serious withdrawal. After that I felt great.

To say eat more sugar to relieve the symptoms is like telling an alcoholic to have another drink to feel better......

Other Answers:
fruit doesn't fill you up very much, a better snack would be nuts or lots of fruit but something that actually fills you up.
You might have diabetes. Go get checked out!!! Drink OJ to help with the shakes!
go to your doctor!!!
Eat small amounts of sugar in moderation. I have the same problem, I actually just try to beat the craving by, not eating sugar at all... it's really hard.
Wow, that sounds definitely like low blood sugar. You need to see a doctor to be checked for possible pre-diabetes. In order to avoid the sugar cravings from low blood sugar, always eat protein whenever you eat sugar. Avoid sugar ideally, and only eat whole fruit if need the sweet taste. Eat small protein meals (5x a day) to avoid blood sugar drops. Also, avoid caffeine, which can alter blood sugar levels. But definitely get checked by a doctor!
Have some protein instead of fruit. Fruit has a lot of natural sugar in it so it will spike your blood sugar and then send you crashing. A piece of chicken or cheese will even you out and give your body protein which it processes slowly.
eat a lot of carbohydrates to gain energy......
Your hypoglycemic meaning low blood sugar. When you eat fruit eat a little protein and a little fat along with it so it digests more slowly.
