Do you have a very strict diet and don't exercise or do you exercise and eat pretty darn good.?
Question:
But I am afraid if I allow myself to eat more and exercise I will not lose the weight in time for the weddng at the end of August.
Answers:
Exercise gives you energy. That being said if you aren't eating what your body needs to have energy, it will be harder and harder. Reserach has proven that diets are useless - exercising is what will keep you in shape for your life. Eat sensible, but diets will do nothing to get you in shape. I say eat smart - balanced diet (yes that includes carbs that are whole wheat and such), and exercise - you will look & feel so much better!

I do only because I have a high metabolism but I still exercise every now and then, like during a commercial I do sit-ups and don't eat past 7:30pm.
I'm just lucky I eat alot and exercise very little and 3 mos pregnant I weigh 105 (I'm short) i have a very strict diet: veganism. i don't consume any animal products (except honey). everything i eat comes from plants (except the honey. i also avoid soft drinks.
i don't go to a gym, but i walk a lot.
I do exerdise as well as eat pretty darn good. i really really really hate exercising too. but i like figure skating. maybe you have a happy medium you haven't thought of?
at any rate, just being more active might be better. walk around the mall, jump on trampolines, go swimming at a friend's house. there are lots of things considered exercise that are fun.
Well you can eat what you want if you just cut down on it drink lots of water and try exercise twice a week I did this and lost 2 kg in 3 weeks i don't exercise regularly but i watch what i eat..
i admit that i maybe a fan of food but i see to eat that i'm not taking in too much calories and bad cholesterol or too much fat..
i guess i'm just lucky with this kind of body..
I too have struggled with being overweight. The one time I successfully lost 40 pounds was by reducing calorie intake and exercising. Every evening I created a journal for the next day's meals/snacks which included calories and % of fat for each food item. By adjusting my daily total calories up (1600) or down (1000) I could include items such as a slice of pizza or a serving of ice cream. Also 5 days out of 7 I tried to walk at least 15 minutes and do strength training OR a short aerobic session. Good Luck! carbs are the energy for your muscles, they are the main source of energy. Good fat is easily picked out by your body when being digested and bad fat is something you need to flush out by drinking lots of water. Chances are your eating a lot of protein, which is only good if you building muscles. You can eat carbs, you just want to make sure they are whole wheat. If you eat to many then its going to be stored as fat. Eating cereal for breakfast is good, a healthy cerial like granola, raisin bran, special k, those are all good for you. Bread on your sandwich at lunch, also good for you. The only time you lose by eating carbs is when you eat way to much and don't exercise for the next few days afterward, or if you have a lot of cakes or cookies. If you body can't get rid of the sugars in those fast enough it will store them as fat for future use. One of the best ways it gets rid of them is water which makes your food easier to digest. Think of your intestines as a stream and food particles as fish. It's a lot easier to spot what kind of fish are in the stream if they are more spread out right.
Be your own trainer and nutritionist, the basic rules to losing weight are no soda, no fast food, lots of chicken, fish, fresh (not canned that’s bad) fruits and vegies, whole wheat stuff, yogurt. Not so many cakes and donuts and cookies. Basic common sense for eating, you just need to enforce it. Get all the bad stuff out of the house right away, just toss it or give it away while your still motivated. No alcohol if that applies. Some juice but make sure its all natural, because the ones that aren't are loaded with sugar and a leading cause in diabetes in children and adults. Lots of water, 3-4 liters a day, not all at once, but spread out. Its really easy to down a liter or two while your watching tv or on the computer. Also drink some after you eat the bigger meals of the day, it helps your body pick out the nutrients in food when your food is more spread apart. You also need to stay away from any sports drinks unless you’ve just had a long workout and then you need to limit yourself. Most atheletes mix Gatorade with water because its two complex for your body to get all the nutrients out of. It needs to be diluted. These rules may be hard to adapt to at first so start with cutting out the things you know you can live without. Then work from there. Remember these are perfect eating habits, it can take you a while to work into it. If you know you can’t live without your one treat a day, don’t fight it by trying to eat something else, just eat it and make sure that’s the only one you cheat on a day. Otherwise you’ll get depressed and quit. Another important point is getting the right amount of sleep every night. You need 8-9 hours of sleep each night for your body to function correctly. This is an important factor of losing weight. Set up a routine for yourself and go to bed at about the same time each night.
As for exercise, lots of cardio. Find something you like. If you have never exercised much before, start with walking 30 minutes a day at a brisk pace. Move on to different terrains that include hills and increase the time spent. After a week or two, try jogging the route. No matter what find an activity you enjoy. Walking to jogging is just an example, try hiking, rollerblading, biking. Once you get into a regular routine, if your not happy with the level of difficulty, try signing up with a gym. Spinning, pilates or kickboxing classes are great. It will also introduce you to working with weights. Talk to a trainer for instruction before using any weights. A cheap investment is a balance ball, it works you stomach while your just sitting on it, like at your computer and its great for posture. There are hundreds of exercises you can use it for for your entire body. I can give you some ideas if you want, just email me. Like, foods with alto of fiber, calcium, protein,etc..You, can drink alot of water, as well. Then, just basically take walks, a couple three times, a week. Stay away from fried foods. They are not only high in cholesterol, but they are very hard to get off the thighs. You dont have to eat like a rabbit, and starve yourself. But, I found from experience, that.Cooking your own steamed vegetables, baked potatoes, with salsa, on them, and all the fish you can eat.. High grain wheat bread, with no butter, at all. You will shed the pounds!! Whether, you exercise, or not. But, this diet, gives you so much energy, and makes you feel so uplifted all day long, you want to be on the go! Its a Very Wonderful Delicious Diet!! Good-Luck!
