What are some reasons I should work-out (like go to a gym)?

Question:
I'm a girl. small. skinny. not really muscular. all the exercise i get is tae kwon do and dance class. should i work-out?

(oh and another question: do you think that biceps on girls are GroSs?)

Answers:
Your martial arts and dance classes are great for balance, coordination and cardio vascular conditioning, but you should include a whole-body weight resistance workout, at least 1-2 times a week, using 2-3 sets of 8-12 reps to stimulate lean muscle mass and keep your bone density healthy. The combination of all three of the above systems you will be in better shape than 99% of the Western population (over 70% are overweight or have physical limitations due to poor lifestyle choices)

Other Answers:
why not? i have never heard of being too healthy
You are working out. Also do cardio for 30 minutes 4 times per week and weight resistance training, but ask a trainer at a health club- You can get trial memberships and have 2 free clsses with trainers- Don't sign up for more personal training lessons unless you have money!!!
skinny is good for a girl stay that way thats the body that boys like
Too feel better about yourself.
It sounds like you're getting plenty of exercise through your tae kwon do and dance. But if you have the time, energy and desire, it couldn't hurt to work out some more. Just don't go overboard with it. And by the way, defined arms are not really gross on a girl. It's pretty chic now actually.
muscle tone a girl looks good. You wouldn't grow freaky muscles unless you take steroids. Girls have low testosterone than men
Aerobics and martial arts are great ! keep it up. I think that's enough, good cardio and some thightening. Muscle toning looks more feminine than muscle building. Some guys may get turned off or even intimidated.
Talk to a trainer. They can specialize work-out routines for you so that you can develop some muscles without looking like a female Arnold Schwertzinager (sp?), which BTW, is VERY gross in my opinion.

You should work out, but not to lose weight. Rather do it so you can gain a touch of muscle mass, a good amount of strength and over all, a very healthy body.

It will be hard at first, but it is well-worth it in the end.
