Exercise and healthy eating are the only sure ways to remain fit. Don't start on the diet treadmill as it will mess up your body's metabolism (that's how your body deals with food). If you're worried about your stomach, read the following carefully and think about what you want and why you want it. Is it to fit in or is it because you want to be healthy (not thin as thin isn't automatically healthy).

There is no such thing as a safe quick weight loss. Diets and diet pills don't work they just act on the pituitary gland and make you lose water. Diets make the body lose water not fat (water loss means weight loss). It's good to exercise or run about and have fun as anything which raises your pulse and makes you sweat is good. If you don't eat enough the body goes into "famine" mode if it doesn't get enough norishment (ie, it thinks it's being starved) and stores anything it does get as fat, rather than glucose (glucose is a form of sugar which is what every cell in your body uses for energy). Every cell in your body respires (this is like breathing - good stuff goes in and bad goes out) and this uses energy, ie, food. Without enough energy, your metabolism slows and food is stored as fat. Why do you think you need to lose weight - has someone said something or is it because you feel unhealthy - do you really need to lose the weight? The only thing guaranteed to get a body healthy (note I don't say "lose weight") is to exercise and eat a healthy, balanced, wide variety of foods plus the occasional treat in moderation (this stops any food becoming "naughty" and therefore craved). Please note that body muscles weigh four times more than body fat because the fibres are so much closer together. Some fat is important on the body as it helps regulate hormonal levels in the body and prevents osteoporosis and other bone wasting diseases in later life. Some fat is important on women as too little can cause periods to stop and bring about fertility problems. Females are made differently to males and a totally flat stomach and no hips isn't healthy on a woman. The question to ask yourself is - how do you look in a mirror - not how much do you weigh. If you think you look untoned, then include some excercise using light weights (low weight, lifted lots of times) into your life.

I have friends who have taken up Pilates and although they never lost weight, their clothes looked fantastic on them, their posture improved and their entire bodies firmed up. I watched this happen. Pilates strengthens your core muscles (the ones that hold your skeleton in place) which makes you stand properly which makes you look slimmer. I believe that yoga also does this although I don't know anyone who has done this. Additionally, try dance (old style ballroom / salsa) as this is a fun way to tone up. Any excercise / activity that raises your heart rate and makes you sweat BUT IS FUN will ensure you stick to it and get fitter.

Additionally, drink lots of water. Lots of people eat when they are in fact thirsty. If you feel hungry, drink a glass of water first and if you're still hungry half an hour later, then eat. Eat sensibly and regularly and don't forget to eat breakfast (so named because it "breaks" the night's "fast"). Missing breakfast starts the day off badly as your body will just crave and store anything you eat later as fat. Try to avoid having too many fizzy, sugar filled drinks or a lot of fried (especially deep fried) foods. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Try not to have too many take away meals (they have lots of hidden salt, sugar and fat) and learn to make and eat proper home cooked meals. Don't cut any "naughty" foods out completely, just cut down to one or two a month as otherwise you'll want them all the time. Eventually, you'll stop wanting to eat junk food.

Hope this helps.

Exercise some, eat fruits, don't eat a lot of that other stuff and don't be self conscious or worried. Otay?

situps, or crunches You could rent it out for advertising space.

EAT MORE AND RELAX, AND MAKE IT BIGGER, BECAUSE FAT IS WHERE ITS AT.

Push back the plate, don't eat food that are extremely tempting to you. Meaning avoid buffets, ice cream, basically anything that is good to you, not for you. Also eating vegetables, jogging, and stomach crunches help also.

Stop eating wire your mouth shut and do 8000000 sit ups a day now go fatty I don't suppose you want to hear diet and exercise. Relacore and Hydroxycut seem to be good SUPPLEMENTS to living healthy, both available at Wal-Mart.

IF YOU HAVE HARD TIME WITH SIT UPS DUE TO BACK PAIN, AND LIKE TO WORK OUT AT HOME THEN GET ONE OF THOSE EXERCISE BALLS AND DO YOUR SIT UPS ON THAT.

IT WORKS GREAT FOR ABS AND ALL TYPES OF PROBLEM AREAS AND USUALLY COME WITH A INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO. GOOD LUCK

Join the club. Your problem area is the last to go. Walk 20-30 min. a day at a fast pace. In a few months you'll notice a big difference. Also watch your portion size. Get a Ab Flex machine and when you do the exercises, hold them a few seconds rather then doing them fast. It will tighten your muscles up faster My trainer told me last night that you have to be a little hungry if you want to be skinny. I actually hate that statement and disagree somewhat, but it's halfway true. You can't feed your face every time you're hungry. Eat 6 small meals a day (not fattening things) and that's it. And you HAVE to exercise. Don't expect to lose weight and keep it off unless you do some cardio and weights on a regular basis. Once you lose a few pounds, you'll be more motivated. Good luck!

go running..eat fruits.make healthy foods.don't b self conscious.bcause u r really nice and pretty and thin in ur own way!! (wow i feel like a motivational speaker)

why worry about it now you must have seen it coming when you have to buy bigger clothes is the biggest hint.no matter what anyone says if you have not got the will power you will never lose it . good luck

Drink lots of water, this encourages your body to get rid of any water it is storing. Exercise (cardio vascular work like running and cycling) 3 times a week for at least half an hour. Sit ups will not help. They build tummy muscles but under layers of fat they will never be seen. Lower your intake (haveslightly smaller meals) but Main thing is drink lots of water (or herbalteas). You will pee like crazy but IT REALLY DOES HELP. eat less, and do more excrise/workout.

Sit-ups start with 10 a day then increase it as you get used to it.
You can also lie down and raise the feet and shoulder off the floor a little, hold position for as long as you can, its hard but it works the abdomen muscles and it works!!

some good suggestions here
