Anyone want to be a running partner?
Question:
Right now I'm 180 pounds, looking to lose some mass for endurance, possibly 165-170 range. It's tough enough for me to finish 5 miles. Ran 5 miles on 7/31 in 52 minutes. Just to give you an idea of where I'm at right now in terms of running pace and ability.

Does long-distance motivation help? Not sure what help I can be to you, but I'll try here first....
You probably already know what you're supposed to be doing to get down to your goal weight range... but I'll share some points of interest just in case you need that information anyhow.
* Consume protein for muscle
* Only drink water (no alcoholic, caffeinated beverages or otherwise)
* Increase your speed, not distance, weekly... once you get the distance ran in the time that you were shooting for, THEN increase the distance with the same speed
* Fruits and veggies, veggies and fruits... you'll need tons of both to get down to that goal weight - eat as much as you want.
* Don't eat within 4 hours of bedtime... but if you're really hungry, eat a Fuji or Gala apple... they're light, fiberous and good for you
* Switch from white bread to whole wheat (not 7 grain, honey wheat, etc.... 100% whole wheat only)
* Eliminate butter, dressings, etc. when possible
