Why do people who have a prob with others being fat have to pretend..?

Question:
that they actually care about their health? Why can't they just come right out and admit that the only reason they give a cr@p is that they find them repulsive?

Answers:
Doubt they would admit to being so shallow.

Other Answers:
Because that's not polite!

Because it is cruel to let on you find someone repulsive when there is little they can do to change it, right then, before your eyes.

It takes years to get fat enough to be repulsive; not just a bit plump or sort of rounded, or "more to hug," but repulsive in the sense that if you saw me naked, you'd probably toss your lunch. And it takes herculean efforts to lose that weight once its all over your body. Think about it: I weigh 300 lbs. and I'm 59 years old. Forget losing it in order to attract a man to love me; I'm too old for that to be an incentive. And if I go to a doctor and he says "morbid obesity," he starts thinking about liposuction or cutting out part of my intestines, and other drastic measures like that. I'm too heavy and too out of shape to be able to exercise significantly more than I do now; walking one or two blocks more per day would not lose the weight before extreme old age catches up with me. Even granted that it was my own actions in eating at least a little more than I needed and exercising at least a little less than I needed that got me in this fix, here I am.

I suggest you see the movie "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" for a taste of compassion for the morbidly obese.

who says others are repulsed by overweight people. if someone confronts an overweight person about their weight maybe they are generally conserned about their health. there are some who might not but if its a friend or family there is possibly some general consern. theres nothing wrong with somebody caring about you. who says that people are repulse by "fat" people anyway? i actually prefer my man at his heavy weight now than i did when he was skinny. i have a little more weight than desired but he wouldnt have it any other way.
