What foods are good to increase your metabolisim besides green tea and cinnamon?

Question:

Answers:
You should really talk to your doctor before you try doing something like that since everyone's body is different. My doctor recommended a high protein diet. Some would tell you to start on a high carb diet. It really depends on how your body processes food.

Other Answers:
Those things MIGHT only raises metabolism very little. Exercise raises metabolism. Lets say you do 20 mins of aerobics...your metabolism will be raised for a few hours after that.
Caffeine in moderation, Stuff with Vitamin B and lots of Amino Acids in it.

High protein low fat foods can help.

A really good way to speed the metabolism is to eat more often but smaller healthier portions. Try to eat every 2-3 hours 6 times a day.
Eat breakfast!
Breakfast is essential. Your body has been deprived of food throughout the night, therefore your metabolism has slowed. If the cells do not receive sufficient nutrients they will begin to function less efficiently on smaller amounts, and they will actually store more fat to use during these times of nutritional deprivation. Eat six small meals a day to keep your body's fuel supply consistent and keep your metabolism revved up. Avoid eating late at night because your metabolism naturally slows down in the afternoon and evening, so eat a hearty breakfast. Consistency is important because your body metabolism adapts to your current weight. If you have been dieting or skipping meals your body's metabolism slows down to compensate for the lack of nutrients. When lean people overeat their metabolism speeds up and when obese people diet their metabolism slows down. The key is a balance of exercise and diet.

Eat fewer high-fat foods and less total calories. Choosing healthy foods, such as lean protein and vegetables, can actually increase your metabolism as well. Increase dietary fiber and limit sugary foods, alcohol, caffeine and don't smoke. The best foods to increase your metabolism and help you lose weight are fish, dark green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, blueberries and other fruits, whole grains, and at least 8 glasses of water a day.

When your cells need energy they will break down carbohydrates first, then fat and finally protein. Your body converts carbohydrates into a form of sugar called glucose which is easily used as fuel by your body. Any excess carbohydrates you eat will be turned into fat for storage. Of course, any fat you eat will be stored as fat as well. Your body converts the fat you eat into body fat very efficiently. If you exercise and eat wisely, however, you will burn those fat stores and increase your metabolism.

You can jump-start a sluggish metabolism through exercise and diet which will have lasting health benefits for you. Not only will you lose weight and gain muscle mass, but you'll have more energy to burn and you'll feel great.

It's also helpful to pay attention to your stress levels, because some people eat high sugar foods in times of stress, known as "comfort foods," it is important to reduce your stress levels.
Citrus, tomatoes and beans
Well, caffeine and nicotine both increase your metabolism, but I'd avoid the first and run from the latter.

You shouldn't focus specifically on what foods raise your metabolism, instead look at the schedule of your diet to raise your metabolism. Look here, if you eat three times a day,
7:00am, 12:00pm, and 6:00pm, that means your times between meals are 5hrs, 6hrs, and 13hrs! Those gaps in your diet put your body into miniature starvation modes, which causes your metabolims to drop like a rock to save energy. You wouldn't fill your car with gas, and drive until you ran out, then have to walk to get gas to fill your car again, so why do it with your body? Eat every 3hrs. This may sound arbitrary but there's a reason. Your body empties the stomach every 3hrs, so, it makes sense that you should have a meal, or small protein rich snack every three hours.

But, you say 'won't I gain weight eating six times a day?' The answer, no. You won't be as hungry at meals because you aren't starving yourself, so overall, you'll consume fewer calories.

Every three hours is important, because it tells your body there is a constant supply of fuel, so we A) don't need to store fat, and B) need to burn this fuel! So, you raise your metabolism and eliminate the storage of fat! You can't lose!!!
