How effective are liquid diets? Can you keep the weight off once u lose it?

Anyone tried "medifast" or any thing like it? I am considering it but don't want to waste my time if once you get off them you gain it all back.

Yes, you will gain the weight all back the moment you go off the diet and start eating the way you always have again. The only effective way to lose weight and keep it off is to make lasting LIFESTYLE changes, like eating healthfully and exercising more. Fad diets never work!

They don't work. The weight comes right back as soon as you go back to solid foods. Weight Watchers is really the only plan diet that people tend to stick with, because it goes along with eating normal food and the meetings are helpful for most people.

of course you gain it back. Cut down on calories and if you dont like to excercise, do easy stuff, like always take the stairs instead of the elevator. Also there are alternatives to "liquid" diets, try the nutrisystem plan, it'll be alot healthier too!
Liquid diets are worthless. If all you drink is liquid then the next time you eat real food ( which you will have to do eventually or you will die) it will be double the calories so you will gain double the wait you lost.
Liquid diets can actually make you gain more weight after you go off of it. Even though they may profess to be complete and balanced, there is always something that your body will miss. Once you begin to eat again the body may take a while to readjust itself and the food may turn into sugars in your system.
I did try medifast and hated the taste of the shakes, I did lose weight, but had to quit due to the taste. What about trying a cleansing diet.
