If I am still sore after 2 days, should I work out the sore muscles?
Question:
Answers:
Depends on how sore your muscles still are and what kind of work out. If it hurts to walk, just stretch easily - no tearing of muscles! If you're only a little sore, a little light workout (stress light) may help the muscles start moving and get the blood flowing through them again to help promote healing. But none of that lifting small cars stuff - you have to respect the healing time of your muscles so they can heal and build. Everyone's muscles are very different, too, so what works for one person won't necessarily help another. Also - lots of water will help them as well. Stay hydrated!

No, this isn't enough time. Stretching is OK though.

Yep. Take some ibuprofen or naproxen and work through the stiffness. Just make sure to warm up and cool down thoroughly to prevent any injury, and take it a little lighter than you normally would. Yeah, I did it a few times, its better than just letting your muscles cramp.
Yeah actually working out would help get the old acid thats built up in there out. Work out when u are sore. It helps
first what did you do? and second does it need medical attention? third yes work out the sore muscle if the answer to number 2 is no.
yeah, that will be the only way to get the lactic acid out.or you don't work out, and have to start all over again. no, you should let your sore muscles heal, so the can rebuild themselves stronger, otherwise you risk tearing down tissue before it can recover
yes you need to work out the soreness.stretch real good before workin out
a couple things will help
drink a bit more water
get a massage
(then drink more water)
It'll help purge your body and loosen you up.
Two days after you workout is when you'll be the most sore. You should stretch your muscles everyday and maybe take up a routine that worked each area well only once or twice a week. Recovery time is just as important as the workout itself. If you have not worked out in 2 days, then yes, work out. It will actually help the soreness in your muscles. If you worked out yesterday, then no, do not work out today.
I'd say, do some stretches and a light work out. Depends how sore you are. Sometimes a workout will help but not if you actually injured something - like tore a muscle etc.
LoL.. yes you should still work out even though you are sore. It'll make your muscles feel better in a while.
Good luck with you workouts..hope you reach your goal.
God Bless You..
it might pay to do some good stretching and less strenuous exercises such a yoga until yr muscle are less sore. there is a good routine on yoga in this article
