I have bdd (body disphormic disorder) how can I overcome it?

Question:
I can't receive therapy becuase my parents dont understand what I'm going through, and their the reason why I have this problem. Are there any ways to handle this independently?

Answers:
See your doctor and hopefully they can refer you to a good cognitive behaviour therapist. I don't know how old you are, but you have a right to treatment, maybe if one of your parents went with you to the doctor's appointment, they might understand the seriousness of the disorder better. The doctor may also prescribe anti-depressants.

I'd also recommend visiting the website below. It has some very valuable information and a message board so you can get some support from fellow sufferers.

Take care and stay positive : )

Be happy with who you are. Things won't change and you only have one life. MAKE THE BEST OF IT!
