you need to
- eat right, but don't starve yourself
- do cardio training of 20-40 minutes 3-4 times a week
- do WEIGHTED ab exercises, such as swiss ball crunches, wood choppers
- also hanging leg raises, hanging knee raises, hanging oblique raises

Hey, the best advice i can give you that was given to me when i felt the same is to exercise (never fails), and eat a healthy stable diet!
Dont follow any fad diets, (or the diets that swear thay hav immediate results), as i learnt the hard way, you'll only put on the weight (if not more) that you already lost!

Sit ups, 1000s of sit ups, yukkkkk, but they work.
With any diet you need some form of exercise. The more you use your muscles, the higher your metabolic rate will go. It takes more energy to maintain muscle; Therefore resulting into an accelerating fat burning mode. Try to integrate some type of weights and not all aerobic.. aerobic is only good while you are doing it. muscle will burn fat even while you are sleeping.
Meals. I would suggest 6 small meals a day.chicken, rice sweet potato, broccoli. things of that nature and integrate for a snack.. a couple of flavored rice cakes. Go sparingly on the flavor enhancers like butter. hot and spicey are ok, they will raise your metabolic as well as release endorphins. No one diet is right for everyone. you have to test the waters to find what suits you best. but ultimately keep in mind. it is not a "DIET", you need to change your lifestyle eating, as diets are only a temporary solution..
