South Beach Diet is awesome. I lost 30 pounds and I feel great. You will not have to give up carbs completely, just learn to eat the right carbs. Great program to get rid of belly fat.

i personally havent but at one time all the people at work were on it and not one of them looks any slimmer. maybe they cheated?
I have tried it. The intro two weeks is really hard at first, with no fruit, sugar or grains. But, I did lose weight, and I felt really good. After the intro you can add fruit and whole grains back in. I felt best when I eliminated all wheat from it. I had a lot more energy, but I did seem to be spending more $ on my food. Just be open to trying lots of new foods so that you don't get bored. I felt the best I have felt in a long time when I was on it. It just wasn't sustainable for me right now.
Diets don't work. 99% of people gain the weight back. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
