When you eat sugar, your blood sugar skyrockets, releasing the hormone insulin, which is the fat-storing hormone. That sudden release of insulin helps balance out the sugar, but it overcompensates. Then you experience the blood sugar crash, which is the feeling of fatigue and a craving for more sugar. You eat more sugar and it starts all over again. The more you eat, the more you crave. Do this often enough and you set yourself up for diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, etc.
You'd also be depriving your body of necessary vitamins, and in short, doing absolutely nothing for your body.
Not only that, but it takes 3500 calories to gain one pound. Think of how EASY it is to eat 3500 calories of junk food, particularly if you're experiencing the aforementioned cravings. It's very easy to consume that much in a short amount of time because junk food is calorie dense. Do this on a regular basis and definitely, you'd gain weight. It's a lot harder to eat 3500 calories of vegetables, because they contain fiber and are filling.

If you eat all junk food, but keep the calorie count under whatever you are burning, than yes you will lose weight. You may develop other health problems and this diet would not be recommended by anyone. It really is best to eat correctly.
