Answers:
Depending on your body frame, a weight loss of anywhere between 20 and 55 pounds would place you in your ideal range.
I've been there -- I am 30 now, but when I was in college I packed on 40 pounds. I'd never had to watch what I ate or exercise before, but too many pizzas and beers will do it every time! That may be your problem -- if you are in college now, you will likely lose some of it once you enter a real work environment.
As for the rest of it. exercise is so very important, and will be important for the rest of your life. It's a lifestyle commitment -- not something you stop once the weight drops. And once you get used to it, you will never want to go without it again (those endorphins can be addictive lil' suckers!). Find an activity that works for you -- for me, it was running. Begin slowly and work at your own pace. It will work -- I lost those 40 pounds and have kept them off for seven years.
Don't give up -- and good luck!
